Research

“Research history There is an rich research literature on the effects of OAE programs. OAE research before the early 1990s was largely in the form of pre/post test research designs using quantitative data (often from self report surveys) looking to determine the effects of individual OAE programs. By the early 1990s there were sufficient data available to enable researchers to complete meta analyses to generalise about the effects of programs across the OAE field. More recently there has been a trend towards the use of mixed method data collection including quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews or self reports. Emerging in the most recent literature (beginning in the mid 1990s) is an increasing number of articles exploring the conceptual and theoretical bases of OAE and in particular OAE research (Rickinson et al., 2004).” - Fraillon (2005)
