Notes
Interval vs. External Attribution
Internal vs. External attributions depend on:
- Consensus:
- The extent to which a behavior is operative in a group
- If many people behave the same way you are likely to make an external
attribution
- Consistency
- Refers to the extent to which a person responds reliably to a stimulus.
- If behaviour is consistent you are likely to make an internal attribution
- Distinctiveness
- Extent to which person responds to different stimuli.
- If behaviour is distinctive you are likely to make an external attribution.
